Supplement Trends in 2026

Trends · Updated June 2026

The supplement aisle moved fast this year. A few shifts stood out across the products we test — and most of them point in a reassuring direction: toward transparency, evidence and less hype. Here are the trends shaping what ends up on shelves, and in our reviews, in 2026.

1. Creatine goes mainstream

Once a gym-only staple, creatine is now marketed for everyday cognition, recovery and healthy aging — backed by a growing pile of research beyond athletic performance.

2. Transparent, full-dose labels

Shoppers are done with proprietary blends. The best brands now print exact amounts and lean on clinically studied doses instead of long, under-dosed ingredient lists.

3. Personalized dosing

Blood-test-guided stacks and goal-based bundles are replacing one-size-fits-all multivitamins, pushing people toward covering real gaps rather than guessing.

4. Third-party testing as a selling point

As trust becomes the differentiator, more brands market their certifications directly: NSF, Informed Sport and published certificates of analysis. Testing has shifted from a quiet back-of-label detail to a headline selling point — which is good news for shoppers, provided you check the mark is genuine rather than a lookalike. See our safety & quality guide for how to verify one.

5. Fewer ingredients, better dosed

The kitchen-sink formula — thirty ingredients, most in trace amounts — is falling out of favour. The trend is toward shorter labels that do a few things properly at clinically studied doses, rather than long lists designed to look impressive. It is a quieter shift than the marketing around it, but for value and results it may be the most important one on this page.
